Oseni combines two diabetes medicines (alogliptin and pioglitazone) that already work to bring your blood sugar down. The thinking here is that kombucha may have a mild blood-sugar-lowering effect of its own, so drinking it regularly could add to what your medication is doing and nudge your levels lower than expected.

I want to be honest about the evidence: this is theoretical and comes mainly from animal studies, not solid human research, so it's not something to panic over. Still, if you drink kombucha often, keep an eye out for signs of low blood sugar like shakiness, sweating, dizziness, or feeling unusually hungry. An occasional glass is unlikely to be a problem, but it's worth checking your sugars more closely and mentioning it to your pharmacist or doctor.
