Here's the simple version: Bromazepam is a benzodiazepine, so it already slows down your central nervous system to ease anxiety. Lemon balm appears to have its own mild calming, sedative-type effect. Put the two together and those effects can stack up, which is what we call an additive interaction.

In real life, that could mean feeling more drowsy, foggy, or unsteady on your feet than usual, which raises the risk of falls, especially in older adults. I want to be honest that this is mostly theoretical and based on limited human and animal data, not strong studies, so it may not be a big deal for everyone. Still, before adding a lemon balm supplement to your bromazepam, please run it by your pharmacist or doctor first.
