Mirikizumab-mrkz falls under IMMUNOSUPPRESSANTS — the group Lychee interacts with.

In vitro, flavonoids extracted from lychee show immunostimulant effects. So far, this effect has not been reported in humans.

Here's the honest picture: Omvoh (mirikizumab) is a lab-made antibody that calms an overactive immune system to treat ulcerative colitis. It works by blocking a specific inflammation signal (interleukin-23). The concern with lychee is only theoretical. In a test tube, certain plant compounds (flavonoids) from lychee gave the immune system a little nudge in the opposite direction, which could in theory work against a medicine meant to quiet inflammation.

In real life, this has never been reported in people, and enjoying lychee as a fruit is very unlikely to change how your Omvoh works. Concentrated lychee extract supplements are the bigger unknown. If you're thinking about those, run it by your pharmacist or doctor first before adding them.

What Is Mirikizumab-Mrkz Used For?

Brand name: Omvoh

Omvoh (mirikizumab-mrkz) is used to treat moderately to severely active ulcerative colitis in adults — a condition where the large intestine becomes chronically inflamed and ulcerated. It is also used to treat moderately to severely active Crohn's disease in adults, another form of inflammatory bowel disease that can affect any part of the digestive tract.

Both uses are specific to Omvoh administered by injection — first as intravenous (into the vein) infusions to start treatment, then as subcutaneous (under the skin) injections for ongoing maintenance.
