Midodrine hydrochloride tablets are used to treat symptomatic orthostatic hypotension (OH) — a condition where blood pressure drops significantly when you stand up, causing dizziness, lightheadedness, or unsteadiness. It is intended for people whose daily lives are significantly impacted by this condition even after trying non-drug approaches like compression stockings, increasing fluid intake, and lifestyle changes.

It is important to know that the approval is based on midodrine's ability to raise standing blood pressure — a marker that is expected to help symptoms, but whose real-world benefit on daily activities has not yet been fully confirmed in clinical trials.
