Prevpac is a combo pack: lansoprazole (a proton pump inhibitor that quiets stomach acid) plus the antibiotics amoxicillin and clarithromycin, used together to clear an H. pylori stomach infection. The concern here is only with the lansoprazole piece. There are scattered, old reports that Northern Prickly Ash may actually increase stomach acid, which could work against what lansoprazole is trying to do.

In plain terms, the supplement might make the acid-lowering part less effective, so you could feel more heartburn or stomach burning. This is rated minor and rests on weak, anecdotal evidence, so it's more theoretical than proven. The antibiotics aren't affected by this. Still, while you're on a course this important, it's worth running it by your pharmacist or doctor before adding the supplement.
