Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CYTOCHROME P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) SUBSTRATES
Why this applies to Bendamustine
Bendamustine falls under CYTOCHROME P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) SUBSTRATES — the group Nutmeg interacts with.
Animal research suggests that intraperitoneal injections of myristicin, a constituent of nutmeg, can induce CYP1A2.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist for bendamustine (Treanda, Belrapzo, Vivimusta). Your liver partly clears this chemo drug using an enzyme called CYP1A2. In animal studies, a compound in nutmeg called myristicin seemed to speed up that enzyme. If that held true in people, your body might break down bendamustine a little faster, which could mean slightly less of the cancer-fighting effect.
I want to be honest though: this is only a theory from lab and animal work, not something proven in patients, so I wouldn't lose sleep over a sprinkle of nutmeg in your eggnog or baking. The real concern is large "medicinal" nutmeg doses, which can be toxic on their own. Since bendamustine is serious chemo, please run any nutmeg supplements past your oncology team or pharmacist first.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Bendamustine page
“Bendamustine (Treanda, Belrapzo, Vivimusta) is IV chemotherapy for chronic lymphocytic leukemia and certain lymphomas, and the liver clears it through an enzyme called CYP1A2. That enzyme is why nearly all 87 supplements on this page appear here, since about 80 of them can push CYP1A2 up or down, which could either raise side effects o…”

About Nutmeg
What is Nutmeg?
- Digestive upset
- Diarrhea
- Sleep and relaxation
- Pain and inflammation
- Flavoring spice
Nutmeg is a popular cooking spice that has long been used in traditional medicine for digestion and other complaints, but there is little solid human research to support its medicinal use. In normal cooking amounts it is generally safe, but larger "medicinal" doses can cause serious poisoning, so it should never be taken in high amounts.
