Chlorpheniramine, Pyrilamine, Phenylephrine falls under STIMULANT DRUGS — the group Peyote interacts with.

This combination cold-and-allergy product (Duphrene) contains phenylephrine, a decongestant that acts as a stimulant by tightening blood vessels and revving up the nervous system. Peyote's active ingredient, mescaline, also stirs up the brain and body. Putting two stimulating substances together can stack their effects, so the worry here is a jittery, overstimulated nervous system: a racing or pounding heart, higher blood pressure, anxiety, restlessness, trouble sleeping, and possibly tremor or agitation.

To be honest, this concern is theoretical, based on how these substances work rather than on strong studies. Still, peyote is not a safe self-treatment, and the combination could be uncomfortable or risky. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before mixing them.
