Dasiglucagon Hydrochloride falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Picrorhiza interacts with.

Evidence from animal research suggests that an extract of picrorhiza can reduce fasting and non-fasting blood sugar levels. Theoretically, picrorhiza might have additive effects with antidiabetes drugs and increase the risk of hypoglycemia. Monitor blood glucose levels closely. Dose adjustments might be necessary. Some antidiabetes drugs include glimepiride (Amaryl), glyburide (DiaBeta, Glynase PresTab, Micronase), insulin, pioglitazone (Actos), rosiglitazone (Avandia), and others.

Here's something a little different about this pairing. Picrorhiza, in animal studies, seems to lower blood sugar, while dasiglucagon (Zegalogue) does the opposite. It's an emergency rescue medicine that tells your liver to dump stored sugar to pull you out of a severe low. So in theory, an herb that nudges blood sugar down could work against what dasiglucagon is trying to do during an emergency, possibly making the rescue less effective.

I want to be honest, though: this concern comes only from lab and animal research, so it's quite weak evidence. Since Zegalogue is used in true emergencies, the bigger point is to mention any supplements like picrorhiza to your doctor or pharmacist so your overall diabetes plan and low-sugar backup stay reliable.

Zegalogue is not a day-to-day diabetes medicine. It is prescribed as an emergency kit to be on hand in case a person with diabetes becomes unresponsive or cannot safely swallow food or juice to raise their blood sugar.
