Immunosuppressant drugs include azathioprine (Imuran), basiliximab (Simulect), cyclosporine (Neoral, Sandimmune), daclizumab (Zenapax), muromonab-CD3 (OKT3, Orthoclone OKT3), mycophenolate (CellCept), tacrolimus (FK506, Prograf), sirolimus (Rapamune), prednisone (Deltasone, Orasone), and other corticosteroids (glucocorticoids).

Here's the gist with Picrorhiza and prednisone: this herb seems to gently rev up the immune system in lab and animal studies. Prednisone does the opposite, it calms the immune system down to control things like flares of arthritis, lupus, asthma, or severe allergies. So the worry is that picrorhiza could work against your prednisone and make it less effective at quieting that overactive immune response.

I want to be honest about the strength here. This is a theoretical concern based only on test-tube and animal research, not real cases in people, so we don't truly know if it matters in everyday use. Still, if you rely on prednisone for a serious condition, it's worth a quick chat with your doctor or pharmacist before adding picrorhiza. Don't stop or change your prednisone on your own.
