Poria Mushroom + Lanreotide
Lanreotide brand name: Somatuline.
We found no known interaction between Poria Mushroom and Lanreotide in our sources. Absence of a documented interaction is not the same as proven safety, and does not guarantee one does not exist. Do not start, stop, or change a medication or supplement based on this page; confirm with your pharmacist or doctor first. Additionally, although there is no interaction, the two are separately associated with some of the same side effects, which would make a new symptom harder to attribute to one or the other.
Poria Mushroom and Lanreotide
We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.
No Known Interaction Found
We did not find a documented interaction between Lanreotide and Poria Mushroom in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — there is often limited research on supplements and herbal products, especially around drug interactions.
If you decide to take both, the practical routine is simple: add one new thing at a time and note the date you started it. If the combination is going to disagree with you, it usually shows in the first days to a couple of weeks — and a start date turns “I’ve been feeling off” into something a pharmacist can actually work with. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.
Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

Why No Interaction Is Listed for Lanreotide
Interactions in our licensed database are recorded against drug classes, not just single drug names. Lanreotide is filed under a single classification — cytochrome p450 3a4 (cyp3a4) inhibitors. Poria Mushroom has documented interactions with 3 drug classes — the most serious being anticholinergic drugs (moderate), cholinergic drugs (moderate) and cns depressants (moderate) — and none of Lanreotide’s classifications are among them.
Classification data comes from our licensed Natural Medicines dataset. A medication can belong to classes beyond those recorded there, so this describes how the check was run — it is not a safety guarantee.

This page covers Poria Mushroom only. If you take other supplements — a multivitamin, a sleep aid, something for joints — the Lanreotide page lists 13 supplements it has a documented interaction with, worst first, each one explained.
The most serious there right now: Adrafinil (moderate), Cannabidiol (cbd) (moderate), Cannabinol (cbn) (moderate), Cannabis (moderate) and Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (thc) (moderate).
By severity: 12 moderate · 1 minor.
From our pharmacist’s overview on the Lanreotide page
“Every supplement on this page interacts with lanreotide (Somatuline) in the same basic way. Lanreotide, injected to treat acromegaly and certain neuroendocrine tumors, can slow CYP3A4, a liver enzyme that many herbal ingredients depend on to be cleared from the body.”

About Poria Mushroom
What is Poria Mushroom?
- Fluid retention and swelling
- Digestive complaints
- Sleep and calming support
- General wellness and immune support
- Urinary support
Poria mushroom (Fu Ling) is a fungus long used in Traditional Chinese Medicine, mainly as a mild diuretic and digestive and calming aid. Modern scientific evidence in humans is very limited, so its benefits are not well proven. It is generally considered well tolerated, but talk with your pharmacist or doctor before using it, and avoid it in pregnancy and breastfeeding due to a lack of safety data.
Wolfiporia extensa · Polyporaceae · Dried fungus body (sclerotium) · Dried slices, powder, capsules, teas, and ingredient in traditional herbal formulas
An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Poria Mushroom is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Poria Mushroom record says about it on its own.
Poria Mushroom: dosing
There is no official, standardized dose of poria mushroom for any health condition. Do not exceed the recommended amount, and start low to see how you tolerate it.

About Lanreotide Injection
What Is Lanreotide Injection Used For?
Brand name: Somatuline
Lanreotide Injection is used for three conditions. First, it treats acromegaly — a hormonal disorder caused by too much growth hormone — in patients who have not responded well enough to surgery and/or radiation, or for whom those treatments aren't an option. Second, it is used to slow tumor progression in adults with certain gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (GEP-NETs) that cannot be surgically removed. Third, it treats carcinoid syndrome in adults, reducing how often short-acting rescue medications are needed to control symptoms.
If a patient is already receiving Lanreotide Injection for GEP-NETs, no additional dose is given for carcinoid syndrome — the same injection covers both conditions.
