Here's the gist with your birth control pill (the ethinyl estradiol and levonorgestrel combo). Pregnenolone is a hormone your body can turn into other steroid hormones, including estrogen. So in theory, layering it on top of the estrogen already in your pill might add a little extra estrogen-like activity. That could mean a bump in estrogen-related effects such as breast tenderness, bloating, nausea, mood shifts, or spotting.

I want to be honest though: this is a theoretical concern based on how pregnenolone behaves in the body, not something proven in real people taking your pill. It's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before adding it, but please don't stop your birth control on your own.
