Flurazepam falls under BENZODIAZEPINES — the group Pregnenolone interacts with.

Concomitant use of pregnenolone may reduce the effects of benzodiazepines.
Very preliminary clinical research shows that chronic use of pregnenolone reduces sedative effects of diazepam when compared with chronic use of placebo. This effect may be related to the activity of pregnenolone at GABAA receptors.

Here's the thing to know if you take pregnenolone alongside flurazepam, your nighttime sleep aid. Flurazepam works by calming brain activity through receptors called GABA-A. Pregnenolone also tinkers with those same receptors, and some early research suggests that taking it regularly may blunt the calming effect of benzodiazepines. In plain terms, your flurazepam might not help you fall asleep or stay asleep as well as it usually does.

I want to be honest about the evidence here. This comes from a small, lower-quality study that actually looked at diazepam, not flurazepam directly, so it's a reasonable concern but not a sure thing. If you're considering pregnenolone, please run it by your pharmacist or doctor first rather than adjusting anything on your own.

Flurazepam Hydrochloride capsules are used to treat insomnia. Specifically, they help with difficulty falling asleep, frequent wake-ups during the night, and early morning awakening.

Because insomnia is often short-lived, flurazepam is generally intended for short-term use. If sleep problems don't improve within 7 to 10 days of treatment, a healthcare provider should evaluate whether an underlying medical or psychiatric condition may be the cause.
