Quercetin + Glucose
Glucose brand name: IV Glucose.
Quercetin has a moderate interaction with Glucose. Theoretically, concomitant use of quercetin and antidiabetes drugs might increase the risk of hypoglycemia.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
ANTIDIABETES DRUGS
Why this applies to Glucose
Glucose falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Quercetin interacts with.
Clinical research suggests that a combination of quercetin, myricetin, and chlorogenic acid reduce levels of fasting glucose in patients with type 2 diabetes, including those already taking antidiabetes agents. The effect of quercetin alone is unknown.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist: quercetin may have a mild blood-sugar-lowering effect of its own. When you're talking about IV glucose, which is sugar given to raise your blood sugar (often to treat a low or during certain medical situations), the concern would run the opposite direction. In theory, quercetin could nudge your glucose levels down a bit, which might slightly work against the purpose of glucose dextrose you're receiving.
Honestly, this is on the theoretical side. The research showing lower fasting sugar used quercetin combined with other compounds, and quercetin's effect on its own isn't well proven. Food amounts almost certainly won't matter. If you're getting IV glucose in a medical setting, your team is already watching your levels closely, so just let your pharmacist or doctor know about any supplements you take.

Every interaction above is graded three ways — here’s the key to each label.
Clinically significant. Avoid the combination, or use only under close professional supervision.
Usually worth avoiding or managing — may need monitoring, a dose change, or timing apart.
Generally not serious. Be aware of it and mention it to your pharmacist.
- LikelyWell-controlled human studies have demonstrated the likely existence of this interaction.
- ProbableInteraction has not been documented in well-controlled studies, however, the interaction has been demonstrated in some small human studies or in controlled animal studies in conjunction with multiple case reports.
- PossibleInteraction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
- UnlikelyInteraction has been demonstrated in animal or in lab research but has been shown not to occur in humans.

See Every Supplement That Interacts With Glucose
This page covers Quercetin only. If you take other supplements — a multivitamin, a sleep aid, something for joints — the Glucose page lists 256 supplements it has a documented interaction with, worst first, each one explained.
The most serious there right now: Activated Charcoal (major), Siberian Cocklebur (major), Acai (moderate), African Wild Potato (moderate) and Agaricus Mushroom (moderate).
By severity: 2 major · 215 moderate · 39 minor.
From our pharmacist’s overview on the Glucose page
“Glucose given by IV raises a dangerously low blood sugar, and this list warrants real caution because most of its 256 ingredients pull the other way. Nearly all of them lower blood sugar on their own, working against the treatment and setting up another crash.”

About Quercetin
What is Quercetin?
- Seasonal allergies
- Antioxidant support
- Heart and blood pressure health
- Anti-inflammatory support
- Immune support
- Exercise recovery
Quercetin is a plant flavonoid with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties found in many common foods and sold as a supplement. While early research is interesting for allergies, blood pressure, and inflammation, strong human evidence is limited for most uses. It is generally well tolerated in food amounts, but talk to your pharmacist or doctor before taking high-dose supplements.

Glucose Is Linked to Lower Levels of One Nutrient
Natural Medicines records Glucose as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Quercetin — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
