Quercetin can modestly decrease blood pressure in people with mild hypertension. Theoretically, it might have additive blood pressure lowering effects when used with antihypertensive drugs.

Timolide is a combo pill that pairs a water pill (hydrochlorothiazide) with a beta-blocker (timolol), and both ingredients work to bring your blood pressure down. Here's the thing to keep in mind: quercetin in concentrated supplement form may nudge blood pressure a little lower on its own. So stacking it on top of Timolide could, in theory, add up to a bigger drop than you want.
If your pressure dips too low, you might feel lightheaded, dizzy, or tired, especially when you stand up quickly. The good news is this concern is mostly theoretical and based on weaker studies, and quercetin from everyday foods is very unlikely to matter. Before starting a high-dose supplement, just check with your pharmacist or doctor so they can keep an eye on your numbers.

In vitro research shows that quercetin is a strong non-competitive inhibitor of OAT3, with half-maximal inhibitory concentration (IC50) values as low as 0.75 mcM. So far, this interaction has not been reported in humans.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Timolide combines two medicines: hydrochlorothiazide (a water pill) and timolol (a beta blocker). Your kidneys help clear hydrochlorothiazide using a little transporter called OAT3. In lab dishes, quercetin can block that transporter pretty strongly. The theory is that if OAT3 is slowed, more of the water pill could stick around, which might mean a bit stronger effect than expected.
In real life that could look like extra urination, lightheadedness, low blood pressure, or shifts in potassium and sodium. I want to be honest with you though: this has only been seen in test tubes and animals, never reported in actual people, so it's mostly theoretical. Food amounts of quercetin are very unlikely to matter. Before starting a high-dose supplement, just check with your pharmacist or doctor.

In vitro research shows that quercetin is a strong non-competitive inhibitor of OAT1, with half-maximal inhibitory concentration (IC50) values less than 10 mcM. So far, this interaction has not been reported in humans.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist with this combo: Timolide contains hydrochlorothiazide, a water pill, plus timolol, a beta-blocker. The hydrochlorothiazide part is moved around your body partly by a kidney transporter called OAT1. In lab dish studies, quercetin blocks that transporter pretty strongly, which could theoretically slow how this drug clears and let a bit more of it build up.
If that happened, you might notice more of hydrochlorothiazide's usual effects, like extra urination, dizziness, lightheadedness, or low potassium. But I want to be straight with you: this is only seen in test tube and animal research, never reported in real people, and everyday food amounts of quercetin are very unlikely to matter. If you're considering high-dose supplements, just run it by your pharmacist or doctor first.

CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES

In vitro research show that quercetin inhibits CYP2D6. This effect has not been reported in humans.

This combination pill pairs hydrochlorothiazide (a water pill) with timolol (a beta-blocker). The part that matters here is timolol, since it's partly cleared by a liver enzyme called CYP2D6. In lab studies, quercetin can slow that same enzyme down. If that happened in a person, timolol could build up a bit, which might mean a lower heart rate, more tiredness, dizziness, or blood pressure dipping more than expected.
Here's the reassuring part: this is only seen in test-tube research, not in real people, so it's theoretical. Everyday food amounts of quercetin are very unlikely to matter.
