Metformin, Sitagliptin falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Quercetin interacts with.

Theoretically, concomitant use of quercetin and antidiabetes drugs might increase the risk of hypoglycemia.

Clinical research suggests that a combination of quercetin, myricetin, and chlorogenic acid reduce levels of fasting glucose in patients with type 2 diabetes, including those already taking antidiabetes agents. The effect of quercetin alone is unknown.

Janumet pairs two diabetes medicines, metformin and sitagliptin, that work to lower your blood sugar. Quercetin isn't a prodrug situation here, so the concern is simpler: some early human research hints that quercetin (especially blended with other plant compounds) may nudge fasting blood sugar down a bit on its own. Stack that on top of your Janumet and, in theory, your sugar could drop a little lower than expected.

Honestly, this is a theoretical, possible interaction built on limited evidence, and quercetin alone hasn't been clearly shown to do this. Food amounts (apples, onions, berries) shouldn't worry you. With high-dose supplements, just be alert for low blood sugar signs like shakiness, sweating, or dizziness, keep checking your readings, and let your pharmacist or doctor know before you start.
