Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
P-GLYCOPROTEIN SUBSTRATES
Why this applies to Omacetaxine Mepesuccinate
Omacetaxine Mepesuccinate falls under P-GLYCOPROTEIN SUBSTRATES — the group Rabdosia Rubescens interacts with.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist for Synribo (omacetaxine). Your body uses a kind of cellular bouncer called P-glycoprotein to push certain drugs back out of cells and help clear them. In test-tube studies, Rabdosia rubescens seems to slow that bouncer down. If the same thing happened in people, more omacetaxine could linger in your system, which in theory could mean stronger effects and more side effects, like low blood counts (raising infection, bleeding, and fatigue risk), nausea, or diarrhea.
The honest part: this is based only on lab research, not human studies, so we really don't know how much it matters in real life. Since omacetaxine is a serious chemo drug, please don't add this herb without first running it by your oncology team or pharmacist.
