Vincristine falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Resveratrol interacts with.

Theoretically, resveratrol might increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP3A4.
In vitro research shows that resveratrol can inhibit the CYP3A4 enzyme. However, clinical research shows that taking resveratrol 3000 mg daily for 8 weeks does not necessitate dose adjustments to medications metabolized by CYP3A4.

Here's the connection: your body relies on an enzyme called CYP3A4 to break down vincristine. In lab and animal studies, resveratrol can slow that enzyme down. On paper, that could let vincristine build up a little higher than usual, which might increase its well-known side effects, things like nerve problems (tingling, numbness, or weakness in the hands and feet), constipation, and low blood counts.

The reassuring part is that this is mostly a theoretical, test-tube concern. In actual human studies, even high-dose resveratrol (3000 mg a day) didn't force any dose changes for CYP3A4 drugs. Still, because vincristine is a chemo drug with a narrow safety margin, please don't add resveratrol without first checking with your oncology team or pharmacist.

What Is Vincristine Injection Used For?

Vincristine Sulfate Injection is approved to treat acute leukemia. It is also used as part of combination chemotherapy regimens for Hodgkin's disease, non-Hodgkin's malignant lymphomas, rhabdomyosarcoma (a soft-tissue cancer), neuroblastoma (a cancer of nerve tissue), and Wilms' tumor (a kidney cancer in children).

Because it works best alongside other cancer medicines, vincristine is almost always given as part of a multi-drug treatment plan rather than on its own.
