Rice Protein + Tobramycin
Tobramycin brand names: Nebcin, Tobi Podhaler, Bethkis, Kitabis PAK.
We found no known interaction between Rice Protein and Tobramycin in our sources. Absence of a documented interaction is not the same as proven safety, and does not guarantee one does not exist. Do not start, stop, or change a medication or supplement based on this page; confirm with your pharmacist or doctor first. Additionally, although there is no interaction, the two are separately associated with some of the same side effects, which would make a new symptom harder to attribute to one or the other.
Rice Protein and Tobramycin
We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.
No Known Interaction Found
We did not find a documented interaction between Tobramycin and Rice Protein in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — there is often limited research on supplements and herbal products, especially around drug interactions.
If you decide to take both, the practical routine is simple: add one new thing at a time and note the date you started it. If the combination is going to disagree with you, it usually shows in the first days to a couple of weeks — and a start date turns “I’ve been feeling off” into something a pharmacist can actually work with. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.
Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

Why No Interaction Is Listed for Tobramycin
Interactions in our licensed database are recorded against drug classes, not just single drug names. Tobramycin is filed under 4 classifications — including aminoglycoside antibiotics, antibiotic drugs, nephrotoxic drugs. Rice Protein has documented interactions with 1 drug class — the most serious being ace inhibitors (aceis) (moderate) — and none of Tobramycin’s classifications are among them.
Classification data comes from our licensed Natural Medicines dataset. A medication can belong to classes beyond those recorded there, so this describes how the check was run — it is not a safety guarantee.
Rice Protein Does Interact With Other Medications
Rice Protein has 23 moderate known drug interactions in our database — Tobramycin isn’t one of them. If you take anything else, check it against the full list below.

See Every Supplement That Interacts With Tobramycin
This page covers Rice Protein only. If you take other supplements — a multivitamin, a sleep aid, something for joints — the Tobramycin page lists 52 supplements it has a documented interaction with, worst first, each one explained.
The most serious there right now: Activated Charcoal (major), Asarabacca (major), Siberian Cocklebur (major), Aristolochia (moderate) and Bacillus Coagulans (moderate).
By severity: 3 major · 38 moderate · 11 minor.
From our pharmacist’s overview on the Tobramycin page
“Kidney protection is the first thing to understand with tobramycin (Nebcin, Tobi Podhaler, Bethkis, Kitabis PAK), an aminoglycoside antibiotic that can stress the kidneys even on its own, so this list warrants genuine care rather than a quick glance. The worst pairings, Siberian cocklebur and asarabacca, can injure the kidneys themselv…”

- Freshness: we automatically re-check this combination every week — this pair was last verified September 20, 2026. The Rice Protein and Tobramycin records this page draws on were last updated July 10, 2026.
- What “no known interaction” means: no documented interaction in the sources above — not a guarantee of safety. Supplements are studied far less than prescription drugs, so we say exactly what the evidence supports, and nothing more.
About Rice Protein
What is Rice Protein?
- Building and maintaining muscle
- Post-workout recovery
- Plant-based protein source
- Meal replacement and shakes
- Weight management support
Rice protein is a plant-based protein powder made from rice that offers an easy way to add protein to your diet, especially if you avoid dairy or animal products. It is generally considered safe and well tolerated, though on its own it is lower in the amino acid lysine and is often blended with pea protein for a more complete amino acid profile. Talk to your pharmacist or doctor before using it if you have kidney problems or other health conditions.
Oryza sativa · Poaceae · Seed (grain/endosperm and bran) · Powder, protein shakes, capsules, blended plant-protein products
An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Rice Protein is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Rice Protein record says about it on its own.
Rice Protein: dosing
There is no official standardized dose for rice protein. Serving sizes are usually based on how much protein you want to add to your diet, commonly around 20 to 30 grams of protein per scoop, but this varies by product.Always follow the directions on the product label and consider your total daily protein needs from all foods.

About Tobramycin Injection
What Is Tobramycin Injection Used For?
Brand names: Nebcin, Tobi Podhaler, Bethkis, Kitabis PAK
Tobramycin Injection is used to treat serious and life-threatening bacterial infections caused by susceptible bacteria. It is approved for adults and children for infections of the blood (septicemia), lungs and airways, brain and spinal cord (meningitis), abdomen, skin, bones, and urinary tract.
Because antibiotic resistance is a growing concern, Tobramycin Injection should only be used when there is a proven or strongly suspected bacterial infection. Your care team will use culture and lab results to confirm it is the right choice.

Tobramycin Is Linked to Lower Levels of 8 Nutrients
Natural Medicines records Tobramycin as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Rice Protein — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
