Cyclothiazide falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS — the group Sodium interacts with.

Theoretically, a high intake of dietary sodium might reduce the effectiveness of antihypertensive drugs.
High intake of dietary sodium can increase systolic and diastolic blood pressure. Also, high intake of sodium may necessitate increased use of antihypertensive medications to achieve blood pressure control in some patients, such as those with chronic kidney disease.

Cyclothiazide is a thiazide-type water pill (diuretic) used to lower blood pressure, partly by helping your body get rid of extra salt and water. So here's the tug-of-war: if you take in a lot of sodium (salt), you're essentially pulling in the opposite direction from what this medicine is trying to do. Too much salt holds onto water and can push your blood pressure back up, which may make Cyclothiazide work less well.

This is well-supported by good research, and it matters more for concentrated sodium supplements or a very salty diet than for an occasional salty meal. If you have kidney problems or stubborn blood pressure, it's worth more attention. Please don't change anything on your own. Just check with your doctor or pharmacist before adding any sodium.
