Sodium + Clobetasol
Clobetasol brand names: Temovate, Clobex.
Sodium has a moderate interaction with Clobetasol. Concomitant use of mineralocorticoids and some glucocorticoids with sodium supplements might increase the risk of hypernatremia.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CORTICOSTEROIDS
Why this applies to Clobetasol
Clobetasol falls under CORTICOSTEROIDS — the group Sodium interacts with.
Mineralocorticoids and some glucocorticoids (corticosteroids) cause sodium retention. This effect is dose-related and depends on mineralocorticoid potency. It is most common with hydrocortisone, cortisone, and fludrocortisone, followed by prednisone and prednisolone.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the good news on this one: clobetasol is a topical steroid cream or foam you rub onto your skin or scalp. The interaction you're reading about applies mainly to steroids taken by mouth or injection (like hydrocortisone or prednisone), which can make your body hold onto sodium and raise blood sodium levels. Clobetasol works locally on the skin, and very little gets into your bloodstream when used as directed.
Because of that, adding sodium with clobetasol is very unlikely to cause a real problem for most people, and this concern is theoretical rather than proven. The main exceptions would be using a lot of clobetasol over large or broken skin for a long time. If you have high blood pressure, heart, or kidney issues, it's still worth a quick chat with your pharmacist before deliberately taking sodium.

About Sodium
What is Sodium?
- Replacing fluids and electrolytes
- Preventing dehydration during exercise or illness
- Treating low blood sodium (under medical care)
- Seasoning and food preservation
- Antacid (as sodium bicarbonate)
Sodium is an essential mineral and electrolyte your body needs to balance fluids, support nerves, and help muscles work. Most people in modern diets get more than enough—often too much—from food, so supplements are rarely needed except for specific medical reasons like dehydration or low blood sodium. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before deliberately adding sodium, especially if you have high blood pressure, heart, or kidney problems.
About Clobetasol Topical
What Is Clobetasol Topical Used For?
Brand names: Temovate, Clobex

Clobetasol Is Linked to Lower Levels of 8 Nutrients
Natural Medicines records Clobetasol as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Sodium — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
