Here's the gist if you take Solomon's Seal alongside alogliptin (Nesina). The concern is theoretical, meaning it comes from how these compounds behave in lab and animal studies, not from solid human research. The idea is that Solomon's Seal might have a mild blood-sugar-lowering effect of its own. Stacked on top of your alogliptin, that could push your numbers a little lower than expected.

Alogliptin by itself rarely causes low blood sugar, but if your readings start running low you might feel shaky, sweaty, dizzy, or unusually tired. None of this is a reason to panic, and food-level use is unlikely to matter much. Still, if you decide to try the supplement, keep a closer eye on your glucose checks and loop in your pharmacist or doctor first so nobody is caught off guard.

Alogliptin is not used for type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis, as it would not be effective in those situations.
