Here's the situation with Repaglinide (Prandin) and Solomon's Seal. Repaglinide already works by nudging your pancreas to release insulin, which lowers your blood sugar. The thinking is that Solomon's Seal might have its own mild blood-sugar-lowering effect, so stacking the two together could push your sugar down a little too far.

If that happens, you might notice signs of low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) like shakiness, sweating, dizziness, a fast heartbeat, or feeling suddenly hungry or confused. I want to be honest though: this is a theoretical concern based on how the herb might behave, not on solid human studies. It's not a reason to panic. Just check your blood sugar a bit more closely if you start it, and run it by your pharmacist or doctor first.

Repaglinide is not for type 1 diabetes or for treating diabetic ketoacidosis (a dangerous condition where the blood becomes too acidic due to lack of insulin).
