Tolbutamide (Mobenol) is an older sulfonylurea that lowers your blood sugar by prompting your pancreas to release more insulin. The concern here is that Solomon's Seal might nudge blood sugar in the same downward direction, so stacking the two could push your glucose lower than you want. If that happens, you might notice the usual signs of a low: shakiness, sweating, dizziness, a racing heart, or feeling foggy and irritable.

I want to be honest about how strong this worry actually is. It's theoretical, based on how the herb behaves in lab and animal studies, not on solid human research. So it's worth a heads-up, not a panic. If you'd like to use both, check your blood sugar a little more closely at first and let your pharmacist or doctor know.
