ANTIDIABETES DRUGS
Why this applies to Repaglinide
Repaglinide falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Pu-erh Tea interacts with.
Pu-erh tea contains caffeine. Reports claim that caffeine might increase or decrease blood sugar levels.
Interaction has been demonstrated in animal or in lab research but has been shown not to occur in humans..
Here's the gist: repaglinide works by nudging your pancreas to release insulin, which brings your blood sugar down. The concern with pu-erh tea isn't really about how repaglinide is broken down. It's about the caffeine in the tea. Caffeine has been reported to push blood sugar either up or down a little, so in theory it could make your numbers a touch harder to predict while you're on repaglinide.
The good news: this is a minor, unlikely interaction based on weaker evidence. A normal cup or two of pu-erh as a drink shouldn't throw things off for most people. Just be aware that repaglinide can already cause low blood sugar (shakiness, sweating, dizziness). If you drink a lot of it or notice odd readings, check your sugar and mention it to your pharmacist or doctor.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Repaglinide page
“Repaglinide (Prandin, GlucoNorm) is taken right before meals to drop blood sugar quickly, and that speed is exactly why this list deserves real respect. Nearly everything on it also acts on blood sugar, usually pushing it lower still and raising the odds of a hypoglycemic crash, though a handful, niacin among them, pull the other way a…”
