Here's the short version: drinking pu-erh tea alongside your insulin lispro (Admelog) is very unlikely to cause real trouble. Insulin lispro isn't broken down by the liver enzymes that teas can affect, so pu-erh doesn't change how the insulin itself works. The only theoretical link is the caffeine in pu-erh, which some reports say can nudge blood sugar slightly up or down. The evidence for this is weak and inconsistent.

What this means in practice: if you suddenly drink a lot more pu-erh than usual, just keep an eye on your blood sugar readings, since insulin lispro can already cause low blood sugar (shakiness, sweating, dizziness). A normal cup or two with meals is generally fine. If you notice unexpected swings, check in with your pharmacist or doctor before changing anything.

What Is Insulin Lispro Injection Used For?

Brand names: Admelog, Admelog Solostar

Insulin lispro injection is used to improve glycemic control (blood sugar management) in people with diabetes mellitus. It is a rapid-acting insulin analog approved for use in both type 1 and type 2 diabetes.

Admelog is specifically indicated to improve glycemic control in patients with diabetes mellitus. Humalog Mix75/25 is indicated to improve glycemic control in adults with diabetes mellitus; it is a fixed-ratio mixture of insulin lispro and insulin lispro protamine, and its fixed proportions do not allow for separate adjustment of basal (background) and prandial (mealtime) doses.
