Sulbactam, Durlobactam falls under ANTIBIOTIC DRUGS — the group Soy interacts with.

Theoretically, antibiotics may decrease the activity of soy isoflavones.
Intestinal bacteria are responsible in part for converting soy isoflavones into their active forms. Antibiotics may decrease the amount of intestinal bacteria and decrease its ability to convert isoflavones.

Here's the thing to know about this pairing: it goes the other direction from what most people expect. Xacduro (sulbactam with durlobactam) is a hospital IV antibiotic used for serious lung infections caused by a tough bug called Acinetobacter. The concern on file isn't that soy changes your antibiotic. It's that the antibiotic may lower the benefit you get from soy.

Your gut bacteria help convert soy isoflavones into their more active forms. Since antibiotics can knock down those good bacteria, you might get a bit less of soy's effect for a while. This is theoretical, based only on lab reasoning, and it's rated minor. Your antibiotic will still work fine, and soy in normal food amounts is not a safety worry here. If you take concentrated soy supplements, just check with your pharmacist.
