At least one FDA label for a product containing Pretomanid says to take it with food. If you take Terminalia Bellirica on an empty stomach out of habit, keep them separate — and take Pretomanid with a meal where the label says to.

Food instructions belong to the product, not the ingredient: two Pretomanid products can carry different directions, and extended-release forms often differ from immediate-release ones. About Pretomanid

What Is Pretomanid Used For?

Brand name: Pretomanid

Pretomanid Tablet is used only as part of a three-drug combination regimen with bedaquiline and linezolid. It is approved for adults with pulmonary (lung) tuberculosis (TB) that has become resistant to multiple standard TB drugs — specifically those resistant to isoniazid, rifamycins, a fluoroquinolone, and a second-line injectable antibiotic.

It is also approved for adults with TB resistant to both isoniazid and rifampin who cannot tolerate standard therapy or whose TB has not responded to it. This approval is based on limited clinical data, and pretomanid is intended for a specific, narrow patient population only.
