Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES
Why this applies to Aspirin, Oxycodone
Aspirin, Oxycodone falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES — the group Tinospora Cordifolia interacts with.
In vitro research shows that Tinospora cordifolia extract inhibits CYP2D6 at high concentrations. However, this interaction has not been reported in humans.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Percodan combines aspirin with oxycodone, and the part that matters here is the oxycodone. Your body uses an enzyme called CYP2D6 to turn some of the oxycodone into a stronger active form. Lab studies hint that Giloy (Tinospora cordifolia) can block CYP2D6, but only at high concentrations in a test tube, and this has never actually been seen in real people.
If it did happen, blocking that enzyme could shift how much oxycodone is activated, possibly changing pain relief or side effects like drowsiness, constipation, or slowed breathing. Honestly, the evidence is weak and theoretical, so I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Still, since both Giloy and this medicine carry their own risks, please run it by your pharmacist or doctor first.
