Meloxicam falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2C9 (CYP2C9) SUBSTRATES — the group Tinospora Cordifolia interacts with.

Theoretically, Tinospora cordifolia might increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP2C9.
In vitro research shows that Tinospora cordifolia extract inhibits CYP2C9. Animal research shows that Tinospora cordifolia extract 400 mg/kg twice daily for 14 days reduces the clearance and increases plasma levels of glyburide, a CYP2C9 substrate. However, this interaction has not been reported in humans.

Here's the gist: your body clears meloxicam using a liver enzyme called CYP2C9. Lab studies suggest Tinospora cordifolia (Giloy) may slow that enzyme down. If that happens, meloxicam could clear more slowly and build up in your blood, which can mean stronger effects and a higher chance of NSAID side effects like stomach upset, heartburn, stomach bleeding, fluid retention, raised blood pressure, or kidney strain.

I want to be honest about the evidence, though. This concern comes only from test-tube and animal work, not from people, so it's mostly theoretical. There's also a separate reason to be cautious: this supplement has been linked to liver injury. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them, and don't change anything on your own.

About Meloxicam

What Is Meloxicam Used For?

Brand names: Mobic, Vivlodex, Qmiiz ODT, Anjeso

Meloxicam tablets and oral suspension treat the signs and symptoms of osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and juvenile rheumatoid arthritis (JRA). The oral suspension and Zybic™ oral suspension are approved for JRA in children 2 years and older; meloxicam tablets are approved for JRA in patients who weigh at least 60 kg. Meloxicam capsules are approved specifically for the management of osteoarthritis pain.

Two IV (intravenous) formulations — QAMZOVA and XIFYRM — are indicated for adults for the management of moderate-to-severe pain, used alone or with non-NSAID pain relievers. Because these IV forms take time to reach full effect, they are not recommended when rapid pain relief is needed.
