Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
IMMUNOSUPPRESSANTS
Why this applies to Deflazacort
Deflazacort falls under IMMUNOSUPPRESSANTS — the group Tinospora Cordifolia interacts with.
In vitro and animal research shows that Tinospora cordifolia has immunostimulant effects.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the thing to keep in mind with Deflazacort (Emflaza): it's a corticosteroid that works partly by calming down an overactive immune system. Giloy (Tinospora cordifolia) does the opposite in lab and animal studies, where it tends to stimulate the immune system. So in theory, taking the two together could push against each other and make your deflazacort work a little less well.
I want to be honest that this concern is theoretical, based on how the herb behaves in test tubes and animals, not on real cases in people taking deflazacort. Still, since this medication is treating something serious like Duchenne muscular dystrophy, I'd run any Giloy use past your pharmacist or doctor first rather than guessing.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Deflazacort page
“Deflazacort (Emflaza) is a corticosteroid, best known for treating Duchenne muscular dystrophy, and the liver clears it through the CYP3A4 enzyme, so supplements that block or speed up that enzyme can genuinely shift how much of the drug reaches the blood. That earns this page real caution.”
