STIMULANT LAXATIVES
Why this applies to Casanthranol, Docusate Potassium
Casanthranol, Docusate Potassium falls under STIMULANT LAXATIVES — the group Uzara interacts with.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the thing to keep in mind with this combo. Dialose Plus contains casanthranol, a stimulant laxative, paired with docusate, a stool softener. Uzara root naturally contains cardiac glycosides, the same family of compounds found in some heart medicines. The concern isn't a direct chemical clash, it's about potassium. If you lean on stimulant laxatives too often, you can lose potassium through your stool, and low potassium makes the heart more sensitive to those glycosides in Uzara.
This is a theoretical, pharmacology-based caution rather than something proven, so don't panic if you've used both occasionally. But the realistic worry would be heart rhythm changes, palpitations, or feeling weak and woozy. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them, especially with any heart history.
