MACROLIDE ANTIBIOTICS
Why this applies to Erythromycin Stearate
Erythromycin Stearate falls under MACROLIDE ANTIBIOTICS — the group Uzara interacts with.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the concern with pairing Uzara and erythromycin. Uzara naturally contains cardiac glycosides, the same family of heart-active compounds found in medicines like digoxin. Erythromycin doesn't get turned into anything by your body to cause this (it isn't a prodrug). Instead, the worry is that erythromycin can slow down how your body clears these glycosides, letting them build up.
If that happens, you could see signs of glycoside overload: nausea, loss of appetite, visual changes like a yellow-green tint, and most importantly an irregular or slow heartbeat. This is only a theoretical, pharmacology-based caution, not something proven in studies, so don't panic. Still, since the heart is involved, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Erythromycin Stearate page
“Erythromycin stearate (Erythrocin, Ethril) is an antibiotic that asks for real vigilance around supplements. It blocks the body's main drug-clearing enzyme, so the largest share of this list is herbs whose blood levels can climb while you take it.”

About Erythromycin
What Is Erythromycin Used For?
Brand names: Erythro-S, Erythrocin, Ethril
Erythromycin treats infections caused by susceptible bacteria. The oral products (delayed-release tablets, tablets and suspensions) are labeled for mild to moderate upper respiratory tract infections caused by Streptococcus pyogenes, Streptococcus pneumoniae and Haemophilus influenzae. For H. influenzae, it is used together with adequate doses of sulfonamides.
Erythromycin lactobionate injection (Erythrocin Lactobionate and other lactobionate products) is used for similar infections, including lower respiratory tract infections, when oral treatment is not possible or when the infection needs high blood levels right away. Topical erythromycin 2% solution, Ery 2% pads and Spotex gel are used on the skin to treat acne vulgaris.
