Your pill, Microgynon (ethinyl estradiol with levonorgestrel), works by keeping your hormones at a steady level so your body doesn't release an egg. Vitex (chasteberry) can nudge your own hormone signals, mainly by acting on the pituitary gland and lowering prolactin. The worry here is that this hormone tinkering could, in theory, work against your birth control and make it slightly less reliable.

I want to be honest about how solid this is: it's a theoretical concern, not something proven in real-world studies, so please don't panic. Still, since an unplanned pregnancy is a big deal, this is worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them. They may simply suggest a backup method like condoms while you take Vitex.

Microgynon and Logynon are combination birth control pills, giving you a steady mix of estrogen (ethinyl estradiol) and a progestin (levonorgestrel) to prevent pregnancy. The concern with chasteberry is that it nudges your body's own reproductive hormones, partly by lowering prolactin and influencing hormone signaling. In theory, that hormone tinkering could work against the careful balance your pill provides.

Here's the honest part: this worry comes only from lab and animal research, not real-world studies in people on the pill.
