White Mulberry + Insulin (rDNA)
Insulin (rDNA) brand names: Humalog, Humalog Mix 75/25, Humulin R, Humulin N, Humulin L, and others.
White Mulberry has a moderate interaction with Insulin (rDNA). Theoretically, white mulberry leaf might increase the risk of hypoglycemia when taken with antidiabetes drugs.

ANTIDIABETES DRUGS
Why this applies to Insulin (rDNA)
Insulin (rDNA) falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group White Mulberry interacts with.
Clinical research shows that white mulberry leaf can lower blood glucose levels. Advise patients to monitor glucose levels closely.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the simple version: white mulberry leaf may gently lower your blood sugar on its own, partly by slowing how quickly sugar is absorbed from your meals. Insulin already does the heavy lifting of pulling sugar out of your blood, so stacking the two could push your numbers lower than you intended. That raises the chance of a low blood sugar episode, which can show up as shakiness, sweating, a racing heart, confusion, or feeling lightheaded.
I want to be honest about the strength of this: it's mostly a theoretical concern based on how mulberry works, not strong proof. A little mulberry tea probably won't rock the boat, but concentrated capsules are a different story. Please don't change your insulin dose on your own. Just check your sugars a bit more closely and loop in your pharmacist or doctor before adding the supplement.
