Here's the simple version: Levemir (insulin detemir) is your background insulin, working steadily to keep blood sugar in range. White mulberry leaf can also nudge blood sugar downward by slowing how quickly you absorb sugars from food. Stack those two together and the effects can add up, so your glucose could drop lower than you expect.

That means watching for the usual low blood sugar signs with insulin: shakiness, sweating, a racing heart, dizziness, confusion, or feeling suddenly hungry. To be honest, this is a theoretical concern based on how mulberry works, not a proven, well-documented clash, and a little mulberry tea is unlikely to matter much. Concentrated supplement doses are where I'd pay attention. Please check your sugars more closely and talk with your pharmacist or doctor before changing anything.

Brand name: Levemir

Levemir (insulin detemir) is used to improve blood sugar (glucose) control in adults and children with type 1 diabetes or type 2 diabetes. It is a basal insulin, meaning it works around the clock to keep background blood sugar levels steady.

Levemir is not recommended for treating diabetic ketoacidosis (a dangerous buildup of acids in the blood that requires a different type of insulin).
