Yogurt + Dantrolene
Dantrolene brand names: Dantrium, Dantrium Intravenous.
We found no known interaction between Yogurt and Dantrolene in our sources. Absence of a documented interaction is not the same as proven safety, and does not guarantee one does not exist. Do not start, stop, or change a medication or supplement based on this page; confirm with your pharmacist or doctor first. Additionally, although there is no interaction, the two are separately associated with some of the same side effects, which would make a new symptom harder to attribute to one or the other.
Yogurt and Dantrolene
We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.
No Known Interaction Found
We did not find a documented interaction between Dantrolene and Yogurt in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — there is often limited research on supplements and herbal products, especially around drug interactions.
If you decide to take both, the practical routine is simple: add one new thing at a time and note the date you started it. If the combination is going to disagree with you, it usually shows in the first days to a couple of weeks — and a start date turns “I’ve been feeling off” into something a pharmacist can actually work with. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.
Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

Pregnancy & breastfeeding ratings are from Natural Medicines (Therapeutic Research Center) — the full detail is in the Special populations card below. Safety guidance is general; always confirm with your pharmacist or doctor for your situation.
Why No Interaction Is Listed for Dantrolene
Interactions in our licensed database are recorded against drug classes, not just single drug names. Dantrolene is filed under 4 classifications — including skeletal muscle relaxants, photosensitizing drugs, hepatotoxic drugs. Yogurt has documented interactions with 3 drug classes — the most serious being ciprofloxacin (cipro) (moderate), tetracycline antibiotics (moderate) and nilotinib (tasigna) (minor) — and none of Dantrolene’s classifications are among them.
Classification data comes from our licensed Natural Medicines dataset. A medication can belong to classes beyond those recorded there, so this describes how the check was run — it is not a safety guarantee.
Yogurt Does Interact With Other Medications
Yogurt has 21 moderate, 1 minor known drug interactions in our database — Dantrolene isn’t one of them. If you take anything else, check it against the full list below.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Dantrolene page
“People take dantrolene (Dantrium) for muscle spasticity from multiple sclerosis or spinal cord injury, and the drug already carries a boxed warning for liver injury. That is why its supplement interactions deserve genuine respect.”

- What “no known interaction” means: no documented interaction in the sources above — not a guarantee of safety. Supplements are studied far less than prescription drugs, so we say exactly what the evidence supports, and nothing more.
About Yogurt
What is Yogurt?
- Digestive health
- Restoring gut bacteria after antibiotics
- Vaginal yeast or bacterial balance
- Source of protein and calcium
- General immune and gut support
Yogurt is a fermented dairy food that often contains live bacteria (probiotics) and provides protein, calcium, and other nutrients. For most healthy people it is a safe, nutritious food, and some yogurts with live cultures may help with digestion and gut balance, though evidence varies by strain and condition. If you are lactose intolerant, have a milk allergy, or have a weakened immune system, talk to your pharmacist or doctor first.
Fermented milk product (made with live bacterial cultures) · Plain yogurt, Greek yogurt, drinkable yogurt (kefir-style), probiotic yogurt, dairy-free yogurt alternatives
An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Yogurt is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Yogurt record says about it on its own.
Yogurt: dosing
There is no official "dose" for yogurt because it is a food, not a standardized medicine. The amount and type of live bacteria can vary widely from product to product, and many people simply eat one or more servings a day as part of a healthy diet.If you are using yogurt specifically for its probiotic content, look for a label that says "live and active cultures" and check whether the strains are listed. There is no proven "best" amount for any health condition. If you want a specific probiotic strain or dose, a standardized probiotic supplement may be more reliable.

About Dantrolene
What Is Dantrolene Used For?
Brand names: Dantrium, Dantrium Intravenous
Dantrolene sodium capsules (Dantrium, Dantrolene Sodium) are used by mouth to control spasticity — painful or disabling muscle stiffness and spasms — caused by upper motor neuron disorders such as spinal cord injury, stroke, cerebral palsy, or multiple sclerosis. They are not used for muscle spasm from arthritis or other rheumatic conditions. Oral capsules are also used before and after surgery to prevent or reduce the risk of malignant hyperthermia in patients known to be susceptible.
For an active malignant hyperthermia crisis — a sudden, dangerous overheating of the muscles triggered by certain anesthetics — the intravenous (IV) forms are given in the hospital. Dantrium Intravenous, Revonto, Ryanodex, and Dantrolene injection are all indicated to treat a malignant hyperthermia crisis and may also be given before surgery to help prevent one in high-risk patients.
