Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
This product contains 19 active ingredients — a blend of Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium probiotic strains, plus Sunfiber. The Lactobacillus strains include L. acidophilus, L. delbrueckii, L. gasseri, L. plantarum, L. rhamnosus, L. casei, L. paracasei, L. brevis, and L. salivarius; the Bifidobacterium strains include B. bifidum, B. breve, B. longum, B. lactis, B. infantis, and a B. bifidum/lactis blend.
These are live microorganisms meant to support your gut flora. The capsule also contains inactive ingredients: potato maltodextrin, a vegetable capsule shell, and rice extract blend.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
The evidence for these strains is mixed. L. acidophilus and B. bifidum are possibly effective for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and possibly effective for antibiotic-associated diarrhea.
L. acidophilus is also possibly effective for Helicobacter pylori infection and bacterial vaginosis. B. bifidum is possibly effective for respiratory tract infections.
For most other claimed uses — hay fever, asthma, cognitive decline, anxiety, athletic performance — the evidence is insufficient to know if these strains work. This product combines many strains, but we don't have effectiveness data on file for most of them individually.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
These probiotics are generally well tolerated in healthy adults and children. Because they contain live microorganisms, there is a theoretical concern that they might cause infection in people who are very ill, have weakened immune systems, or are in intensive care — if that's you, check with your doctor first.
Uncommon gastrointestinal side effects reported with L. acidophilus include bloating, flatulence, abdominal discomfort, and diarrhea. Rare cases of rash and itching have been reported in one trial.
Very rare cases of serious infection (bacteremia, sepsis) linked to some of these Bifidobacterium species have occurred in critically ill patients or newborns — these are not typical with normal use. For pregnancy, L. acidophilus is rated possibly safe; for other strains on file, the data aren't sufficient to say either way, so talk with your doctor.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Antibiotic drugs are the only medication type we've documented interactions with for the checked ingredients. The interaction is Moderate: antibiotics might kill the live organisms in this probiotic.
Space your doses — take the antibiotic and probiotic at least two to three hours apart and confirm the exact timing with your pharmacist.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
If you have IBS, antibiotic-associated diarrhea, or bacterial vaginosis, this product may help — particularly the L. acidophilus and B. bifidum strains. The biggest thing to watch: if you're taking antibiotics, space out the doses so the antibiotic doesn't kill off the probiotics before they work.
If you're very ill, immunocompromised, or in the hospital, ask your doctor before starting. Otherwise, check your specific medications with the tool below.

20 Billion Probiotics Delayed Release by ProBioCare Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
ProBioCare's 20 Billion Probiotics Delayed Release contains multiple live bacterial strains, and several of them interact with antibiotic drugs.
The most serious documented interaction is Moderate severity: L. acidophilus, L. delbrueckii, L. gasseri, B. breve, B. bifidum, and B. longum may all lose effectiveness if you take them at the same time as antibiotics, because the antibiotics can kill the live organisms in the probiotic before they settle in your gut. This is not an interaction that makes the antibiotic unsafe — it's that the probiotic stops working.

Although this is a 19-ingredient product, we could not check seven of the strains (L. casei, L. plantarum, L. rhamnosus GG, L. paracasei, L. brevis, L. salivarius, L. rhamnosus Lr-04, B. lactis, B. infantis, B. bifidum/lactis, and Sunfiber) because interaction data are not on file for them. Altogether, these interactions span 182 individual medications.
To avoid the antibiotic issue, simply space out your doses: take your antibiotic and the probiotic at least two to three hours apart, and ask your pharmacist or doctor for the best timing for your specific situation. Use the medication checker below to verify your exact drugs.
