HelloPharmacist Scorecard of Ai/E 10 by Pharmanex
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
Ai/E 10 is a single-ingredient supplement: Ai/E10 whey extract, a concentrated form of whey protein. The capsule also contains microcrystalline cellulose, gelatin, magnesium stearate, and silicon dioxide as inactive ingredients — these are fillers and binders that hold the capsule together.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
Whey protein is possibly effective for athletic performance — that's the main area where evidence backs it up. For bone health (osteoporosis), the data rates it as possibly ineffective.
There isn't enough reliable evidence to know whether it helps with age-related cognitive decline or with wasting from HIV/AIDS, and for COPD it's rated possibly ineffective.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Whey protein is generally well tolerated by most healthy adults when used as directed. The most common side effects are acne, bloating, cramps, diarrhea, fatigue, headache, nausea, reflux, reduced appetite, and thirst — most of these are dose-related and improve if you lower the amount.
There's one unusual caution: whey protein has been reported in multiple case reports to trigger or worsen acne, especially in teenagers and young adults. When people stopped taking it, their acne typically cleared.
Because concentrated supplement products aren't as well studied as whey as a food, check with your doctor before starting, particularly if you have any health conditions or take medications.
Meds to double-check
Major interaction found
Before taking Ai/E 10, double-check your medications with the search tool on this page if you take levodopa (Major interaction), quinolone or tetracycline antibiotics, or bisphosphonates (all Moderate). Timing your doses apart from this product can prevent most of these interactions.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with some supporting evidence behind its ingredients' uses. Major medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
Ai/E 10 is a whey protein supplement that may help with athletic performance. If you take levodopa for Parkinson disease or any antibiotic or bone medication, you'll need to time your doses carefully — talk to your pharmacist before you start.
It's generally well tolerated, but acne and digestive side effects can happen, especially at higher doses.

Ai/E 10 by Pharmanex Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Ai/E 10 by Pharmanex contains whey protein extract, which interacts with several medication types.
The most serious is levodopa (used for Parkinson disease). Small clinical studies show that taking whey protein at the same time as levodopa can worsen tremor, rigidity, and the on-off syndrome — these fluctuations between symptom control and breakthrough symptoms.
The whey protein may also decrease how much levodopa your body absorbs.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Whey protein also contains minerals like calcium that bind to certain antibiotics and bone medications in your stomach, reducing how much your body absorbs them. You'll want to separate doses: take quinolone antibiotics (like ciprofloxacin) and tetracycline antibiotics (like doxycycline) at least 2 hours before or 4 to 6 hours after this product.
Bisphosphonates (used for bone health) should go at least 30 minutes before — ideally at a completely different time of day.
Altogether, these interactions span 53 individual medications. Use the interaction checker below to look up your exact prescriptions before you start.

Ai/E10(R) Whey extract
Levodopa
Theoretically, whey protein might decrease levodopa absorption.
Small clinical studies show that concomitant ingestion of protein or high doses of leucine or isoleucine (100 mg/kg) and levodopa can exacerbate tremor, rigidity, and the "on-off" syndrome in patients with Parkinson disease.
Bisphosphonates
Theoretically, whey protein might reduce the absorption of bisphosphonates.
Whey protein contains minerals such as calcium that bind bisphosphonates in the gut. Advise patients to take bisphosphonates at least 30 minutes before whey protein, but preferably at a different time of day.
Quinolone Antibiotics
Theoretically, whey protein might decrease quinolone absorption.
Whey protein contains minerals, such as calcium, that can bind to quinolones in the gut. To avoid this interaction, advise patients to take oral quinolones at least 2 hours before or 4-6 hours after whey protein.
Tetracycline Antibiotics
Theoretically, whey protein might decrease tetracycline absorption.
Whey protein contains minerals, such as calcium, that bind to tetracyclines in the gut. To avoid this interaction, advise patients to take oral tetracyclines at least 2 hours before or 4-6 hours after whey protein.
