What’s inside
Full disclosure
This softgel contains one active ingredient: ubiquinol (coenzyme Q10) at 50 mg per capsule. Ubiquinol is the reduced form of coenzyme Q10, a compound your body naturally produces and uses in cells for energy and protection against oxidative damage.
The inactive ingredients are extra virgin olive oil, medium-chain triglycerides, sunflower lecithin, beeswax, rosemary leaf extract, and the softgel capsule itself.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
Coenzyme Q10 is likely effective for replacing CoQ10 when your body's levels are depleted. It is possibly effective for fibromyalgia, migraine headache, congestive heart failure, and diabetic neuropathy — meaning some research supports benefit, but more evidence is needed to be certain.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Orally, ubiquinol is generally well tolerated by most adults. The most common side effects are mild gastrointestinal complaints — appetite suppression, diarrhea, heartburn, nausea, or vomiting — occurring in less than 1% of users; dividing daily doses above 100 mg may help.
Headache, dizziness, and insomnia have been reported occasionally. Skin itching and allergic rash are rare.
Safety during breastfeeding has not been well studied, so talk with your doctor or pharmacist about whether this supplement is right for you if you're breastfeeding. There is not enough reliable safety data in pregnancy, so it is best to avoid unless your doctor advises otherwise.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before taking this product, check with your doctor or pharmacist if you're on any chemotherapy drugs, particularly alkylating agents like cyclophosphamide — ubiquinol's antioxidant activity might reduce their effectiveness. Also confirm safety if you take warfarin or other blood thinners, or if you're on antihypertensive drugs for blood pressure control.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
Ubiquinol is a good choice if you're looking to restore low coenzyme Q10 levels or explore support for migraine, heart health, or neuropathy — but it does interact with several important medication types. Check your exact drugs with your doctor or pharmacist before starting, especially if you take chemotherapy, warfarin, or blood pressure medication.

For each ingredient in Ubiquinol with Kaneka Ubiquinol 50 mg with known interactions, here are the types of medications it can affect. Open any type for the detail — or search your exact drug in the checker above.
Ubiquinol
Alkylating Agents
Coenzyme Q10 has antioxidant effects. Theoretically, this may reduce the activity of chemotherapy drugs that generate free radicals.
Theoretically, antioxidants such as coenzyme Q10 might protect tumor cells from chemotherapeutic agents that work by inducing oxidative stress, such as alkylating agents (e.g., cyclophosphamide) and radiation therapy. The clinical importance of this interaction is unknown.
Warfarin (Coumadin)
Coenzyme Q10 is chemically similar to menaquinone and might have vitamin K-like procoagulant effects, which could decrease the effects of warfarin.
Concomitant use of coenzyme Q10 and warfarin might reduce the anticoagulant effects of warfarin. Four cases of decreased warfarin efficacy thought to be due to coenzyme Q10 have been reported. However, there is some preliminary clinical research that suggests coenzyme Q10 might not significantly decrease the effects of warfarin in patients who have a stable INR.
Antihypertensive Drugs
Theoretically, coenzyme Q10 might have additive effects with antihypertensive drugs.
Some clinical research shows that coenzyme Q10 can significantly lower blood pressure, although other studies have shown conflicting results.
