BROQ Ingredients & Drug Interactions
What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking BROQ against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

HelloPharmacist Scorecard of BROQ by Superhuman Health
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
BROQ contains one active ingredient: sulforaphane, a compound found naturally in cruciferous vegetables like broccoli and Brussels sprouts. The capsules also hold inactive ingredients — maltodextrin, cellulose, acacia gum, magnesium stearate, and copper chlorophyllin — which serve as fillers and binders to hold the capsule together.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
The evidence for sulforaphane is mixed. It's rated possibly effective for prostate cancer, meaning there's some promise but more research is needed.
For hay fever (allergic rhinitis) and asthma, the evidence isn't established enough to say either way. For cancer overall and for H. pylori infection, we either don't have enough reliable data or the evidence leans toward it not working.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Sulforaphane from food is well tolerated, but concentrated supplements like this one are less studied for long-term use, so caution is warranted. The most common side effects reported are bowel discomfort, heartburn, stomach upset, and vomiting.
A small number of trial participants have also reported headache, insomnia, irritability, and increased weight gain — one study showed an average gain of 4 pounds over 18 weeks. There are also rare reports of seizures in males with autism, including in patients whose seizures had previously been well controlled.
Concentrated supplements have not been proven safe in pregnancy, so you should avoid them and stick to sulforaphane from normal food amounts instead. There isn't enough information on supplement-level doses while breastfeeding — use caution and prefer dietary amounts.
If you're pregnant, breastfeeding, or have a personal or family history of seizures, talk with your doctor or pharmacist before taking this product.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before you take BROQ, double-check any medications you're on that are broken down by the CYP3A4, CYP1A2, or CYP2E1 enzymes in your liver — sulforaphane may change how well they work. Your doctor or pharmacist can tell you if any of your prescriptions fall into these groups.
These interactions have not been studied in humans, but the potential exists based on lab research.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with some supporting evidence behind its ingredients' uses. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
BROQ may be worth considering if you're interested in prostate health support, though the evidence is still preliminary. However, because sulforaphane may alter how your body processes many common medications, you need to check your prescriptions against the interaction tool before you start.
If you have a history of seizures, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or experience any stomach upset, talk it over with your doctor or pharmacist first.

BROQ by Superhuman Health Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
BROQ by Superhuman Health contains sulforaphane, which can interact with several classes of medications through how your body breaks them down.
The most serious concern is with CYP3A4 substrates (Moderate severity) — sulforaphane may increase their levels and effects, potentially boosting their action in your body in ways you don't expect.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Sulforaphane also interacts with CYP1A2 substrates and CYP2E1 substrates, both at Moderate severity. For CYP1A2 drugs, the interaction goes both ways — sulforaphane may either increase or decrease their levels, depending on which of its components takes the lead.
For CYP2E1 substrates, sulforaphane may increase their levels and effects. These interactions have not yet been studied in humans, so the real-world risk is still theoretical.
Additionally, the enzyme effects sulforaphane can have are complex and sometimes contradictory in the lab — meaning what happens in your body might differ from what test tubes show. Altogether, these interactions span 723 individual medications.
You'll want to run your exact prescriptions through the search tool on this page before you start.

Sulforaphane
Cytochrome P450 1A2 (Cyp1A2) Substrates
Theoretically, sulforaphane might alter the levels and clinical effects of CYP1A2 substrates.
Animal and in vitro research shows that sulforaphane inhibits CYP1A2 enzyme activity. However, its precursor glucoraphanin also appears to increase the expression of the CYP1A2 enzyme, which could lead to increased metabolism of CYP1A2 substrates. These effects have not been reported in humans.
Cytochrome P450 2E1 (Cyp2E1) Substrates
Theoretically, sulforaphane might increase the levels and effects of CYP2E1 substrates.
In vitro evidence shows that sulforaphane inhibits CYP2E1 enzymes. This interaction has not been reported in humans.
Cytochrome P450 3A4 (Cyp3A4) Substrates
Theoretically, sulforaphane might increase the levels and effects of CYP3A4 substrates.
Animal and in vitro research shows that sulforaphane inhibits CYP3A4 enzyme activity and downregulates its expression. This interaction has not been reported in humans.
