Aripiprazole Lauroxil falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Sulforaphane interacts with.

Theoretically, sulforaphane might increase the levels and effects of CYP3A4 substrates.
Animal and in vitro research shows that sulforaphane inhibits CYP3A4 enzyme activity and downregulates its expression. This interaction has not been reported in humans.

Here's the short version: your body uses a liver enzyme called CYP3A4 to help clear aripiprazole (the active drug released from Aristada). In lab dishes and animal studies, sulforaphane appears to slow that enzyme down. If that were to happen in people, aripiprazole could build up a bit more than expected, which might mean stronger side effects like drowsiness, restlessness, dizziness, tremor, or feeling lightheaded when standing.

I want to be honest about the strength of this, though. This effect has only been seen in test tubes and animals, never confirmed in humans. Broccoli and other veggies on your plate are very unlikely to cause trouble. A concentrated sulforaphane supplement is the bigger question mark, so check with your pharmacist or prescriber before starting one.

Aripiprazole injection is used to treat schizophrenia and to provide maintenance treatment for bipolar I disorder in adults. Different injectable products carry these approvals.

Abilify Asimtufii is approved for the treatment of schizophrenia in adults and as maintenance monotherapy for bipolar I disorder in adults. Aristada is approved for the treatment of schizophrenia in adults, with Aristada Initio used specifically to help start Aristada therapy.
