Why this applies to Fluticasone

Fluticasone falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Sulforaphane interacts with.

Theoretically, sulforaphane might increase the levels and effects of CYP3A4 substrates.
Animal and in vitro research shows that sulforaphane inhibits CYP3A4 enzyme activity and downregulates its expression. This interaction has not been reported in humans.

Fluticasone (Flonase, Flovent, and the others) is a steroid that your body clears mainly through an enzyme called CYP3A4. In lab and animal studies, sulforaphane appears to slow that enzyme down. If that held true in people, less of the fluticasone would be broken down, so a bit more could linger in your body and raise the chance of typical steroid side effects, things like throat or nasal irritation, mouth thrush from inhaled forms, or, with heavier exposure over time, the usual concerns that come with steroids.

Here's the reassuring part: this has only been seen in test tubes and animals, never reported in actual patients. Eating broccoli is no concern at all. If you're using a concentrated sulforaphane supplement, just run it by your pharmacist or doctor first.
