Why this applies to Lofepramine

Lofepramine falls under CYTOCHROME P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) SUBSTRATES — the group Sulforaphane interacts with.

Theoretically, sulforaphane might alter the levels and clinical effects of CYP1A2 substrates.
Animal and in vitro research shows that sulforaphane inhibits CYP1A2 enzyme activity. However, its precursor glucoraphanin also appears to increase the expression of the CYP1A2 enzyme, which could lead to increased metabolism of CYP1A2 substrates. These effects have not been reported in humans.

Lofepramine is a tricyclic antidepressant, and your liver uses an enzyme called CYP1A2 to help process it. Here's the wrinkle with sulforaphane: it seems to pull in two directions. In lab and animal studies it can block CYP1A2 (which could let lofepramine build up, meaning more dry mouth, constipation, drowsiness, or a faster heartbeat), but its precursor may actually speed up that same enzyme (which could weaken the antidepressant's effect). We honestly don't know which wins out in people.

The key point: this is only theoretical, based on test tube and animal data, with nothing reported in humans. Broccoli on your plate is no concern. If you're thinking about a concentrated supplement, just run it past your pharmacist or doctor first.
