- Osteoporosis is a disease associated with calcium loss from bones causing them to weaken and possibly fracture. A healthy diet with adequate calcium and regular exercise builds and maintains good bone health and may reduce the risk of osteoporosis later in life.
- Calcium is necessary for supporting strong bones and teeth. Adequate calcium and vitamin D, as part of a well balanced diet, along with physical activity, may reduce the risk of osteoporosis. Vitamin D helps improve calcium absorption. Vitamin K helps support healthy bones.
