Candida Control Advanced Ingredients & Drug Interactions
by BIOVEA
What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Candida Control Advanced against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

HelloPharmacist Scorecard of Candida Control Advanced by BIOVEA
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
Candida Control Advanced contains 11 active ingredients: several species of live probiotic bacteria (Bacillus coagulans, Bifidobacterium bifidum, Bifidobacterium longum, Lactobacillus acidophilus, Lactobacillus delbrueckii, and Lactobacillus rhamnosus, Lactobacillus casei, Lactobacillus plantarum, Lactobacillus salivarius, and Streptococcus thermophilus), plus lactoferrin, a protein found naturally in milk and other body secretions. The probiotics are meant to support your gut bacteria balance, while lactoferrin plays a role in iron binding and immune function.
The product also includes inactive ingredients — binders and capsule materials like hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, pectin, gellan gum, and silicon dioxide.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
The evidence for what this product actually does is limited and mixed across its ingredients. Lactobacillus acidophilus has possibly effective evidence for irritable bowel syndrome, Helicobacter pylori infection, antibiotic-associated diarrhea, and bacterial vaginosis.
Bacillus coagulans and Bifidobacterium bifidum are possibly effective for irritable bowel syndrome. Lactoferrin is possibly effective for sepsis and pregnancy-related iron deficiency.
For the other conditions these ingredients are sometimes promoted for — including Candida overgrowth, which isn't listed as an indication for any of them — we either don't have good evidence or the evidence we do have rates the ingredient as ineffective. Your pharmacist can help you decide whether this supplement matches what you're trying to address.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
The probiotic bacteria in this product are generally well tolerated in healthy adults and children. However, the safety data overall are limited and vary by ingredient.
Live probiotics do carry a theoretical risk of causing infection in patients with weakened immune systems, central lines or catheters, severe illness, or prematurity — cases of bacteremia and sepsis have been reported, though they're rare and usually occur in those high-risk groups rather than in otherwise healthy people. Lactoferrin is generally well tolerated at typical doses, but higher doses (7.2 grams daily) have been linked to constipation, diarrhea, anorexia, fatigue, and chills.
Gastrointestinal side effects like bloating, flatulence, and abdominal discomfort have been reported with probiotic use, though they're uncommon. Pregnancy and lactation safety hasn't been fully established for most of these ingredients, so talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using if you're pregnant or nursing.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Antibiotics are the main medication type to watch: they may decrease how well this supplement works because they can kill the live probiotic organisms. If you take any antibiotics, separate your doses from this product and talk to your pharmacist about timing.
No interactions are documented for the other ingredients we could check.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
If you have IBS or are dealing with antibiotic-related diarrhea, some of these probiotics have decent evidence behind them. If you take antibiotics, you'll need to time this product carefully — separate doses by several hours so the antibiotics don't kill off the live bacteria.
People with severely weakened immune systems or central catheters should check with their doctor first. Run your medications through the checker on this page.

Candida Control Advanced by BIOVEA Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Candida Control Advanced by BIOVEA contains several probiotic bacteria, and a number of them interact with antibiotics.
The most serious concern is Moderate in severity: when you take antibiotics at the same time as Bacillus coagulans, Bifidobacterium bifidum, Bifidobacterium longum, Lactobacillus acidophilus, or Lactobacillus delbrueckii, the antibiotics may kill enough of the live organisms in the supplement to make it ineffective. These probiotics need to be separated from antibiotic doses — typically by a few hours, though your pharmacist can advise on the exact timing for your situation.
