What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Goldenrod against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: certified organic Goldenrod (Solidago virgaurea) dried herb liquid extract. It's formulated in a menstruum, which is the liquid used to extract the herb's compounds.
That's it — no other active ingredients.
Does it work?
Insufficient evidence
The evidence we hold for goldenrod doesn't establish it as effective for any of its traditional uses. For benign prostatic hyperplasia, dental plaque, kidney stones, and urinary tract infections, the data rates as insufficient reliable evidence to say whether it works.
This doesn't mean it doesn't work — it means we don't yet have the science to support those claims.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Goldenrod is often well tolerated over the short term, but human safety data are limited and allergic reactions are possible. Topically, it can cause allergic contact dermatitis in sensitive individuals.
There's also one case report of someone who inhaled goldenrod dust at work and developed an allergic reaction affecting the nasal passages and lungs. The safety data advise against use during pregnancy and while breastfeeding because there isn't enough information to know it's safe.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Check any diuretic drugs (water pills) you take before starting this product — goldenrod can amplify their effects and side effects. These include medications for high blood pressure, heart failure, kidney disease, and swelling.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with insufficient evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
Goldenrod may appeal to you if you're exploring herbal support for urinary or prostate concerns, but the evidence for those uses isn't established yet. If you take a diuretic medication, run it through our checker before you start.
Talk with your pharmacist or doctor before using this during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or if you have a history of allergies to plants in the daisy family.

HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Herbal Terra's Goldenrod is a single-ingredient liquid extract that does interact with one category of medications.
The main concern is diuretic drugs (water pills) — goldenrod may boost both their effects and their side effects. Since goldenrod itself has diuretic properties, combining it with prescription diuretics could intensify fluid loss and electrolyte changes.
