Lactoxira Ingredients & Drug Interactions
by SuperSmart
What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Lactoxira against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

HelloPharmacist Scorecard of Lactoxira by SuperSmart
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
Lactoxira contains 8 active probiotic strains — live beneficial bacteria meant to support your gut health. The two checked ingredients are Bifidobacterium bifidum and Bifidobacterium longum; the other six are Lactobacillus salivarius, Lactobacillus plantarum, Lactobacillus casei, Lactobacillus brevis, Lactococcus lactis, and Bifidobacterium animalis lactis.
The capsule also contains acacia gum as an inactive ingredient.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
The data shows Bifidobacterium bifidum is possibly effective for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and respiratory tract infections, though evidence is insufficient for hay fever, Alzheimer's disease, and generalized anxiety disorder. For Bifidobacterium longum, we have insufficient evidence to rate it for age-related cognitive decline, hay fever, antibiotic-associated diarrhea, anxiety, asthma, or athletic performance.
We don't have effectiveness ratings on file for the other six ingredients in this product.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Both checked Bifidobacterium strains are generally well tolerated in healthy people, but those with weakened immune systems or serious illness should be cautious and check with their doctor first. Bloating and flatulence are reported with probiotic use in general, though not specifically documented for B. bifidum.
B. longum users have rarely reported abdominal discomfort, flatulence, constipation, and one case of a dry cough. Rare cases of Bifidobacterium infection (sepsis) have occurred in critically ill or preterm infants, though these are uncommon.
Bifidobacterium longum is rated possibly safe in pregnancy and lactation, but the safety data for the other ingredients aren't on file.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
If you take antibiotic drugs, let your pharmacist know before you start Lactoxira. The Bifidobacterium strains in here can lose their potency if you dose them together with antibiotics, so your pharmacist can help you time them right.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
This probiotic blend may help with IBS or respiratory infections if Bifidobacterium bifidum works for you, though evidence is mixed for other uses. If you take antibiotics, talk to your pharmacist about timing — you'll need to space out your doses.
Anyone with a weakened immune system or serious illness should check with their doctor first.

Lactoxira by SuperSmart Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Lactoxira by SuperSmart contains eight probiotic strains.
Two of them — Bifidobacterium bifidum and Bifidobacterium longum — interact with antibiotic drugs. Both can theoretically lose effectiveness if you take antibiotics at the same time, because antibiotics may kill the live organisms in the probiotic.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
For both strains, this is a Moderate interaction. The way around it is simple: separate when you take them.
Your pharmacist or doctor can help you space out your antibiotic and probiotic doses so they don't interfere with each other.
We couldn't check the other six ingredients in this product — Lactobacillus salivarius, Lactobacillus plantarum, Lactobacillus casei, Lactobacillus brevis, Lactococcus lactis, and Bifidobacterium animalis lactis — because we don't hold interaction data for them. Altogether, these interactions span 182 individual medications.
