What’s inside
Low disclosure
This is a four-ingredient probiotic formula built around live microorganisms. The active ingredients are Lactobacillus acidophilus LA-14, Lactobacillus plantarum LP-115, Bifidobacterium longum BL-5, and HOWARU Bifido — all strains of beneficial bacteria that live naturally in your gut and help with digestion and immune function.
The supplement also contains cellulose as an inactive ingredient (a common capsule filler).
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
The evidence for this product's strains is mixed. Lactobacillus acidophilus is possibly effective for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), Helicobacter pylori infection, antibiotic-associated diarrhea, and bacterial vaginosis — meaning some studies suggest benefit, but the evidence isn't yet strong.
For Bifidobacterium longum, we don't have enough reliable evidence to rate its effectiveness for the conditions studied (cognitive decline, hay fever, antibiotic-associated diarrhea, anxiety, asthma, and athletic performance). We hold no effectiveness data for Lactobacillus plantarum LP-115 or HOWARU Bifido.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Both Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacterium longum are generally well tolerated in healthy adults and children. However, caution is advised — especially for people who are seriously ill or have compromised immune systems — because there are rare documented cases of these bacteria causing serious bloodstream infections in vulnerable patients, including critically ill infants and those who've had recent surgery.
Gastrointestinal side effects like abdominal discomfort, bloating, flatulence, and diarrhea can occur but are uncommon. For pregnancy, L. acidophilus is rated possibly safe; for B. longum, both pregnancy and lactation are rated possibly safe, though safety data are limited, so discuss this with your healthcare provider.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before taking Power Probiotic 100B, check with your pharmacist or doctor if you're on antibiotic drugs (Moderate interaction). Antibiotics can reduce how well the probiotic works by killing the live bacteria in the supplement, so spacing out the doses is important.
Altogether, these interactions span 182 individual medications.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
This probiotic may help with IBS, diarrhea after antibiotics, and other digestive issues if you're otherwise healthy. The main thing to watch is timing with antibiotics — take them apart so the antibiotics don't wipe out the live organisms.
If you're seriously ill, immune-compromised, or have had recent surgery, talk to your doctor before starting. Check your exact medications with the search tool on this page, and mention this supplement to your pharmacist.

Formula
Four-Strain Probiotic Totaling 100 Billion CFU Per Capsule
Power Probiotic 100B is a four-strain, vegetarian, dairy- and gluten-free probiotic formula totaling 100 billion CFU per capsule. These live microorganisms have proven health benefits, well-established safety and have been tested for epithelial cell adherence and/or resistance to low pH, Power Probiotic 100B probiotics are encased in innovative stomach acid-resistant capsules called DRcaps to further support resistance to low pH and the delivery of microorganisms to the small intestines.

Power Probiotic 100B by Pure TheraPro Rx Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Power Probiotic 100B by Pure TheraPro Rx contains live probiotic bacteria that interact with antibiotic drugs through its Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacterium longum content.
Both ingredients may have their effectiveness reduced if taken at the same time as antibiotics, because the antibiotics can kill the live organisms in the supplement before they establish themselves in your gut.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
The interaction with antibiotic drugs is rated Moderate for both ingredients. The concern is straightforward: antibiotics don't distinguish between harmful bacteria and the beneficial ones in your probiotic supplement.
To preserve the probiotic's benefit, space out your doses — most pharmacists recommend taking them at least two hours apart, though your doctor or pharmacist can give you the exact timing that works best for your specific antibiotic.
We could not check two of the four ingredients in this product — Lactobacillus plantarum LP-115 and HOWARU Bifido — so interaction data for them isn't on file. Use the medication checker on this page to look up your exact drugs before you start, and definitely mention this supplement to your pharmacist when you fill an antibiotic prescription.

Lactobacillus acidophilus LA-14
Antibiotic Drugs
Theoretically, taking Lactobacillus acidophilus with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of L. acidophilus.
L. acidophilus preparations usually contain live and active organisms. Therefore, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and L. acidophilus preparations by at least two hours.
Bifidobacterium longum BL-5
Antibiotic Drugs
Theoretically, taking Bifidobacterium longum with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of B. longum.
Since B. longum preparations usually contain live and active organisms, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and B. longum preparations by at least 2 hours.
