What’s inside
Low disclosure
Probiotic-10 100 Billion is a capsule containing 10 active probiotic strains: Bifidobacterium animalis lactis BL-04, Lactobacillus casei LC-11, Lactobacillus rhamnosus LR-32, Bifidobacterium longum BL-5, Lactobacillus salivarius LS-33, Lactobacillus plantarum LP-115, Lactobacillus paracasei Lpc-37, Lactobacillus acidophilus LA-14, Bifidobacterium breve BB-3, and Streptococcus thermophilus ST-21. These are live beneficial bacteria meant to support digestive health.
The capsule also contains inactive ingredients: hypromellose (a capsule material), microcrystalline cellulose, fructooligosaccharides, ascorbyl palmitate, and silicon dioxide.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
The evidence for these probiotics is mixed and varies by strain and condition. Lactobacillus acidophilus has possibly effective evidence for irritable bowel syndrome, Helicobacter pylori infection, antibiotic-associated diarrhea, and bacterial vaginosis.
For most other conditions we have data on—such as age-related cognitive decline, hay fever, asthma, athletic performance, and diabetic complications—the evidence is either insufficient to rate or suggests the strains may not be effective. We don't have effectiveness information on file for most of the other strains in this blend.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Probiotics containing live organisms are generally well tolerated in healthy people. However, the facts note that caution is needed if you're seriously ill, have a weakened immune system, or are in a hospital setting—there have been rare cases of Bifidobacterium and Lactobacillus bacteremia (bacteria in the bloodstream) in critically ill infants and adults, especially those with central lines or who are on life support.
Common side effects are rare but can include abdominal discomfort, bloating, flatulence, constipation, or a dry cough. Pregnancy and lactation safety data are limited; Bifidobacterium longum is rated possibly safe in pregnancy and lactation, but we don't have specific safety information on file for the other strains.
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using this product during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Antibiotic drugs (Moderate severity): don't take them at the same time as this probiotic—the antibiotics can kill the live bacteria. Space them at least a few hours apart.
No other medication interactions are documented for the ingredients we could check.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
This probiotic blend may help with certain gut issues if you're a healthy adult, but the evidence is strongest for Lactobacillus acidophilus in specific conditions like IBS and antibiotic-associated diarrhea. If you take antibiotics, space them several hours apart from this product.
If you're seriously ill, immunocompromised, or pregnant, check with your pharmacist or doctor first. Use the interaction checker below for your medications.

Probiotic-10 100 Billion by NOW Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Probiotic-10 100 Billion by NOW contains ten probiotic strains, and we have interaction data for four of them.
Three of those—Bifidobacterium longum, Lactobacillus acidophilus, and Bifidobacterium breve—interact with antibiotic drugs. All three carry a Moderate severity rating: taking them at the same time as antibiotics might kill off the live bacteria in the probiotic, making it less effective.
The answer is to space out the two: take your antibiotic at one time of day and the probiotic several hours apart.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Streptococcus thermophilus (the fourth ingredient we could check) has no interactions documented in our data.
We could not check six ingredients—Bifidobacterium animalis lactis BL-04, Lactobacillus casei LC-11, Lactobacillus rhamnosus LR-32, Lactobacillus salivarius LS-33, Lactobacillus plantarum LP-115, and Lactobacillus paracasei Lpc-37—because we hold no monograph data for them. Bifidobacterium longum BL-5
Antibiotic Drugs
Theoretically, taking Bifidobacterium longum with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of B. longum.
Since B. longum preparations usually contain live and active organisms, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and B. longum preparations by at least 2 hours.
Lactobacillus acidophilus LA-14
Antibiotic Drugs
Theoretically, taking Lactobacillus acidophilus with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of L. acidophilus.
L. acidophilus preparations usually contain live and active organisms. Therefore, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and L. acidophilus preparations by at least two hours.
Bifidobacterium breve BB-3
Antibiotic Drugs
Theoretically, taking Bifidobacterium breve with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of B. breve.
Since B. breve preparations usually contain live and active organisms, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and B. breve preparations by at least 2 hours.
