Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
This product contains 11 probiotic ingredients — live beneficial bacteria strains designed to support digestive health. The active strains are Bifidobacterium longum, Streptococcus thermophilus, Lactobacillus paracasei, Lactobacillus casei, Lactobacillus rhamnosus, Lactobacillus acidophilus, Lactobacillus salivarius, Bifidobacterium lactis, Lactobacillus plantarum, Bifidobacterium breve, and Xylooligosaccharides (a prebiotic fiber that feeds beneficial bacteria).
The capsule also contains inactive ingredients: hypromellose, microcrystalline cellulose, FOS (another prebiotic fiber), stearic acid, and silicon dioxide — these are fillers and binders that hold the capsule together.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
The evidence varies by strain and condition. Lactobacillus acidophilus shows possibly effective ratings for irritable bowel syndrome, Helicobacter pylori infection, antibiotic-associated diarrhea, and bacterial vaginosis.
For most other conditions listed in the data — including age-related cognitive decline, hay fever, asthma, and athletic performance — the evidence isn't established enough to rate reliably, either for L. acidophilus or the other strains we checked. That doesn't mean the product doesn't work; it means the research isn't there yet to say one way or the other.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
These probiotics are generally well tolerated in healthy people. Both Bifidobacterium longum and Bifidobacterium breve come with a caution: people who are seriously ill, immune-compromised, or in critical care need to check with their doctor first — there are rare reports of these bacteria causing bloodstream infections in those groups, especially in premature infants after surgery or on life support.
Lactobacillus acidophilus is generally well tolerated in healthy adults and children. Rare gastrointestinal side effects reported include abdominal discomfort, bloating, flatulence, constipation, and diarrhea.
One person reported a dry cough in a trial. For pregnancy and breastfeeding, Bifidobacterium longum and Lactobacillus acidophilus are rated possibly safe, but data are limited — talk with your doctor or pharmacist before taking during pregnancy or while nursing.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Check with your doctor or pharmacist before taking this if you're on antibiotics. Antibiotics are Moderate-severity interactions with Bifidobacterium longum, Lactobacillus acidophilus, and Bifidobacterium breve in this product — they can kill the live organisms and reduce effectiveness.
Your provider can help you time the doses several hours apart so both work as intended.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
This is a good choice if you're looking for a multi-strain probiotic and you're in good health. If you take antibiotics, space them several hours apart from this product to keep the beneficial bacteria alive.
If you're seriously ill, immunocompromised, have indwelling catheters, or are pregnant or nursing, talk with your doctor or pharmacist first — they'll help you decide if it's right for you and when to take it.

For each ingredient in Probiotic-10 & Bifido Boost with known interactions, here are the types of medications they can affect. Open any type for the detail — or search your exact drug in the checker above.
Bifidobacterium longum (Bl-05)
Antibiotic Drugs
Theoretically, taking Bifidobacterium longum with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of B. longum.
Since B. longum preparations usually contain live and active organisms, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and B. longum preparations by at least 2 hours.
Lactobacillus acidophilus (La-14)
Antibiotic Drugs
Theoretically, taking Lactobacillus acidophilus with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of L. acidophilus.
L. acidophilus preparations usually contain live and active organisms. Therefore, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and L. acidophilus preparations by at least two hours.
Bifidobacterium breve (Bb-03)
Antibiotic Drugs
Theoretically, taking Bifidobacterium breve with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of B. breve.
Since B. breve preparations usually contain live and active organisms, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and B. breve preparations by at least 2 hours.
